Artificial intelligence and transparency
Last updated: 7 August 2026
Our approach
Afthonios uses generative artificial intelligence deliberately and within clear limits: some visuals and some features of this site rely on AI, always under human art direction and editorial control. This page describes what is AI-made and how we label it, in line with the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, Article 50).
Course visuals
The cover images of our courses and most illustrations on this site are generated with AI tools, based on an art direction defined by our team. The people they depict are fictional: no image shows a real person.
These files carry an invisible, machine-readable mark embedded by the provider of the generation tool (for example Google’s SynthID watermark). On the site, visuals are flagged with the “AI visual” badge on course pages and with a notice in the catalogue.
Videos
The main videos of our courses are made with real experts, filmed conventionally, without artificial intelligence.
Some translated versions use AI to synchronise the speaker’s voice and lip movement in another language; those videos are labelled accordingly. In the future, some modules may use AI-generated virtual presenters — they will be clearly identified.
The conversational assistant
The assistant available on this site is an artificial-intelligence system: you are not talking to a human being. It is labelled as an “AI assistant” in its interface, and its answers may contain errors. The provider that processes the messages is named directly in the assistant window.
Texts
Course content and the texts on this site are written and validated under human editorial responsibility. AI may assist with drafting or translation, but every published text is reviewed and owned by our team.
The “AI visual” badge
The “AI visual” badge shown on course pages marks an image generated with artificial intelligence, in line with the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act. Clicking the badge leads to this page.
