Confiding in AI about work: Where to draw the line

AI visual

Tension with a colleague, a meeting to prepare: more and more, it’s AI we talk to first.

Always available, tireless, never judging: AI has real strengths as a listener, and there’s no shame in confiding in it. But know what you want from it, and what it won’t give you: the challenge that helps you grow, the connection that matters. This module helps you use it as an ally, knowing its limits, without handing it your key conversations.

~20 min at your own paceKey skill: Independence and Perspective with AIAvailable in FR + ENNo prerequisites

What you’ll take away

  • the test of whether AI helps you prepare for a conversation or avoid it
  • some ways to get useful disagreement from AI rather than easy approval
  • the confidentiality rules to follow before sharing work matters with AI

Who it’s for

Daily AI users who want to use it as a good mirror, and managers who pay attention to communication in their team.

Learning objectives

  1. Understand why AI appeals as a confidant (available, nonjudgmental) and what it really offers.
  2. Identify the three blind spots: flattery that validates, dependence that isolates, and confidentiality that exposes the company.
  3. Keep the right stance: AI as a mirror and a rehearsal room, never a substitute for real conversations.
  4. Notice, as a manager, the sign that communication isn’t flowing well, restore psychological safety, and restate the AI rules.
