AI as a mirror: Why its answers depend on your questions

AI visual

Fascination or fear: two attitudes, the same mistake—20 minutes to discover what AI reflects about you.

An answer made up with total confidence, an assistant that always agrees with you, texts that all sound the same: these flaws we blame AI for say a lot about how we ask it for help. This module shows you how your words, your context, and your state of mind shape its answers, and how to raise the quality of the dialogue.

~20 min at your own paceKey skill: Critical Thinking and Judgment with AIAvailable in FR + ENNo prerequisites

What you’ll take away

  • a clear definition of AI: an extremely powerful algorithm, not a brain that thinks
  • the image of the mirror to spot hallucinations, sycophancy, and generic answers
  • four practices for a more precise, more clear-headed dialogue with your assistant

Who it’s for

Anyone who uses AI every day and wants to ask it questions with more skill.

Learning objectives

  1. Understand what AI is: an algorithm that automates, not a brain with intention or consciousness.
  2. See AI as a mirror that reflects back our data, our biases, our confusion, and our current inner state.
  3. Keep a critical eye on three reflections: hallucination, sycophancy, and the generic default answer.
  4. Improve the dialogue: lasting context, permission to disagree, explicit reasoning, and rereading your own requests.
